***Resolved*** NEW PM-1440HVT-2 Lathe (PM fixed it)

I am sorry you are going through this.

I agree with woodchucker. Drain the oil and run it to verify where the noise if coming from. It may very well be correct that it is the large gear but I would hate to go through the repair and not fix the issue.
If it help and you have a stethoscope around put it in different places and try to locate the noise. I did it once and I could hear the mechanical gears running but it did not help me fix it :(

The draining of the oil was so that when you start it up it didn't sling everywhere..
That video does not help... We need to see it running and in slow motion..

I am a new but with it in neutral put the dial indicator to the spindle and rotate by hand. If it not accurate either the axle is not straight or the bearings or the contact of bearings and axle is not good

You think I can do that without voiding my warranty? I'm not opposed to doing it.

Try to shake the gears a bit and see if they have a play in them.

I did that, (didn't record it though" and it ran straight. Needle didn't budge. I had to double check that I was touching the spindle.
