Bore the cam journal holes to take press in inserts like a regular engine does. Triumph TR6 used a cam that ran in it's high nickel cast iron block. It was a simple matter to bore the block oversize to take press in cam bearings. The ID of the bearings was .005 smaller than the cam journal, so you ground the journal perfectly round and were all set to go. This enabled you to get Ed Iskenderian to grind you some great cams from stock shafts.
