Question For Woodworkers

@Eddyde What did you utilize for the butt joints on the siding? Caulk? Aluminum backer sheet?
A brush on end grain sealer to prevent drying and splitting. The whole building is covered with Bituthene which is basically an ice & water shield, elastomeric membrane, that self seals around screw penetrations. It's totally waterproof so the siding is essentially cosmetic.

Ooof, I'll bet that was expensive, but effective.
