Precision Matthews PM-833TV is here!!

Power feed is installed. Routing cables is kind of a pain.

I also wish they specified a “do not exceed” type of torque value for the bolts you tighten it to the table with since they warn that too tight could crack the table.

I went pretty snug with my 5” crescent so hopefully that’ll keep it in place but not hurt anything.

My shoulder is happy :)

ETA: I think I’ll order the Priest quill Stop and DRO next week and call it good.

Looks nice!
Please post your experience with the Priest quill stop and DRO. That's a functionality I'd like on my PM-833

I think I’m going to try installing the DRO for the quill using the existing bracket on the machine.

Here’s the unit that Priest is using and it appears there’s room to have it besides the existing quill stop on the face plate so I should just be able to drill a couple of holes in the existing bracket and face plate in order to mount it.

I’ll probably have to make a couple of spacers but I’m hoping it’ll work as I’m mainly after the DRO and $50 seems like it’s worth the chance.

Consider incorporating a Bridgeport style quick adjust quill stop.

Another idea I'm working on now, if the back of your vise fixed jaw has a couple threaded holes (my Kurt does for custom jaws) I'm making a plastic vertical shield that bolts on there about the width of my table and about 8 inches high. Otherwise the Y cover behind the table gets gobs of chips on it and chips fling all over the damn place on/behind the machine. Think chip backstop, mine will be 30x8x.125 inch.

I did go ahead and order the Priest Tools quill stop kit and the face plate to go with the quill DRO that I ordered.

Vise is here and looks great!

The quill DRO should be here Thursday but the quill stop hasn’t shipped yet so hopefully it ships soon.

After those arrive I’m calling the mill done unless I decide to get a 3-axis DRO someday.

I considered the DRO the most important feature when I bought mine, on a mill...

Yeah I need to measure it and see what it uses. I may just print one for now.

I'm working on seeing if I can design some wipers for the Y-axis. The first attempt is printing now.
