I was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (stage 3) earlier this year. My little celebration is that I was declared cancer free this afternoon. It has been a brutal run, and I still struggle to eat. This one fried my taste buds, destroyed veins, killed my baroreceptors (the things that help the body self regulate blood pressure).
I can barely walk (no balance and the work sounds when I stand up), but I can start the healing process now to get back out to the machines eventually.
