PM’s new MagXact MX-200L DRO?

Thanks for the info.

As a programmer though resetting to v1.0.0 is a horrible idea and I’m baffled as to why they’d do that. It goes against all versioning best practices that have existed since the modern computer was invented.

At any rate I’ll see what they say about the mill version and if the issues have been fixed I’ll probably go with it. It’ll probably be sometime next year though unless they have a Black Friday sale of some sort.
As a managing director of 800 programmers (retired) it made no sense to me either. Like never heard of that ever. Good to see you looking into a DRO though, I'm assuming this is for your mill.

I really like the MagXact Magnetic MX-200L 2 Axis Lathe LCD DRO I purchased. I hate that I had purchased the less expensive DRO for my mill now from DroPros. Almost want to get rid of it and install a MX-200L. But...in dicussions with my brother on purchasing a Haas Super Mini Mill next year so I'm keeping the mill spending to a minimum.

Buy some glass scales and TouchDRO.

That’s also a possibility, however, I’m just not too keen on an “app” for my DRO and an Android tablet that will have its battery swell and become outdated over time.

Either way I want to go with magnetic scales.

Before I replaced my Galaxy Tab A with a Fire HD10, I had the Galaxy plugged in 24/7 for over two years with no signs of battery issues; the HD10 (Mini-Mill) and HD8 (Mini-Lathe) are also plugged in 24/7.

My 2015 iPad Pro has been plugged in continuously for the last 5 years, and charged nightly for 5 years before that, again with no problems (same with four other iPads I still have). I have had to replace the battery in my 2012 MacBook Pro three times due to mild battery swelling interfering with the track pad (again plugged in 24/7), but not any of my MacBook Air's (going back to 2010, which is the one I have in the Shop).

OK, buy magnetic scales and use TouchDRO :)

The Haas will be a chunk of change for sure.

Yeah I’m looking to get it for the 833. I’m still not looking forward to installing it a probably won’t use the Z-axis though for now as I really don’t think I need it but PM doesn’t offer a 2 axis option.

Former IT guy myself. It doesn't make any sense to change the version number like that, but who's going to make them follow what we think is right? At least it's fixed! :eagerness:
