I had problems and broke my compound, which PM warranted. However the new replacement compound slide is slightly different than the original slide. So Ineed fit a new gib. Any info on fitting a new gib. A print or drawing would do great, even some specs or a list of what needs to be done. I have some generic China grey cast tapered re p lcements that look like they will work. Any help would be appreciated as always. It looks like the gibs are the same for both the 12x36t and the 13x40 t lathe.

Likely, you will have to scrape the new gib to fit the slide, generally they are machined oversize with the consequent need to be scraped to fit any particular lathe.

Yea I know about scraping it in, I need to mill it flat and get it close right now the thick end is like 9.87mm. The thin end needs to come down to 5mm. The old gib is tapered to like from 6.87mm to 4.65mm and it won't tighten up enough on the small end.I think. This why I need to see a drawing of the gib. I want get this thing fixed before I die of old age with a hand scrapers, at the bench.
Merry Christmas
