Pistons problemo!

He stated he already has new pistons, so the corroded ring grooves are not a factor. His problem is the lack of a dome on the top of the piston. I am speaking from experience relayed by guys who formed the SCTA (The Southern California Timing Association) in the 1930's and 1940's, and who raced at "The Lakebed" until it became Edwards Air Force Base and they got kicked out. They had no opportunity to buy domed pistons, so if they needed them, they just made them. They worked fine, and lasted a long time without mechanical failure of the dome sitting on top, or it's attachment hardware.
