I'd oil the parts with the oil they will see in service, and assemble them. I can't think of any place on a South Bend 9 that grease would be appropriate or beneficial. 99 percent of places, you're gonna wish grease was NOT there after about the first three cuts.
Only location for grease on a 9a is the back gear assembly. With that being said, i think you are still better off using oil on the back gear assembly and oil it every time you use back gear. I think it takes type B oil? I have seen mixed versions of what oil o put in there. I followed whatever Mr Pete said.
