Working On It Number (qty of new alerts) not displaying

I visit H-M multiple time during the day. in, catch up, out. Previously, a number, indicating the quantity of new Alerts, would display, in parentheses, in the browser tab and also, without parentheses, adjacent to the Alerts (bell) icon. That's not working for me now. on this visit, there was no number displayed, however when I selected the bell icon, there were three new alerts. All posts, not likes.
I noticed it a few days ago and just hoped it would pass. One time, after just opening H-M, I noticed a number by the bell, but it disappeared before my eyes as I was moving the cursor toward the bell.
I'm on a PC, WIN 10, DuckDuckGo.

I just noticed the "How-To Submit a Support Ticket" sticky so I opened another browser tab to read it without loosing this writing. When I opened the new browser tab, a number 1 was displayed both in the browser tab title and by the bell. I selected the bell and there were 4 new alerts (3 from the original tab plus a new one). And, the 1 also appeared in the original browser tab.

Thanks guys. This is the second report of this, so I will submit a ticket with Xenforo today. I have another issue they are working on currently, so this will be second priority on their list as of this writing.

I've read another report from a member that when they "refreshed" their window, the alert numbering appeared? Can you verify if you are seeing something similar? Maybe that is what you were describing in your description, Ray, but I couldn't quite discern if that is what you were exactly describing.

This is one thing Bryan . I have a few other things going on as well , but I'm able to work around them .

Please create new, separate tickets for the other things, at your convenience. We have upgraded, so it may be just instructional, or it could be a bug, which is what I think the alert system is doing. Either way, let's capture them in a ticket and I'll prioritize from there.

The number seems randomish (hard to pin down). It was there this morning, when I first came to H-M, as I would expect.
I just refreshed the browser and a "1" displayed. I think, previously the 1 would have displayed automatically (without having to refresh the browser) like a push notification.

Do I need to enable push notifications for the Alert count number to display consistently?

I will reply, in this thread, today regarding what I observe about the number displaying or not. Maybe some pattern will become apparent.

It could be the Push Notifications are affecting the counts/display, but I'm not certain how exactly. You could try turning Push Notifications on and see if you notice a difference. Please report back if you do. If not, because you don't like Push Notifications, I perfectly understand why you would stay away from them, as some feel they are nuisance.

I just returned to H-M (new window) and the Alert count was displayed correctly (push notification not enabled and have not been).

I returned to H-M again. There was no number displayed but there was one new alert (49 minutes old).

I'm back again. There was a number 1 displayed and there was one new alert (40 minutes old).
