This has been a no plans build of this vise wrench. I had planned on welding the square drive socket on but I like how it looks now. It is a light press fit already. Do you think it would hold up to straight knurling it and green loctite or would it loosen up over time? I can weld and grind/contour the weld also.

I only have mig on hand. No tidy tig welds for this.

You could pin it with roll pin, tapered dowel pin , set screw, or rivet.

Clean it real good. Then super glue it. Make sure you do it fast. Al.

I'd think it would fail on the first use.
Weld & grind, it will look fine.

Here’s the finished piece. I welded and then sanded down. Then welded a little more to fill in low spots. Still have a few pits but it’s fine.

Thanks for the advice!
Here's a variation I made, definitely the socket doesn't turn in handle.wrench.jpg

Looks great. BTW- Wera makes deep well sockets that have straight knurling on the back end. This make it really easy to get a solid press fit that won't turn. That may help someone else.
