Need a New Coolant Pump for my Surface Grinder

Jeff, what's going on the pump?
The larger little giant pumps are great pumps. Solid.

I have 2 of these. Unfortunately I destroyed one... my fault, was going to rebuild it, and lost some of the parts, and let the oil out all over the place.
But these will handle a lot... or go dedicated like above.
The first setup is what I was going to use as I wasn’t keen on adding a VFD to power the 3-phase pump.

I wonder if something like this could be adapted for use. At least it is cheap if it has to be replaced annually.

BTW for the VMC-1 prices vary by a lot. I see $243 https://www.travers.com/product/little-giant-vmc-1-electric-pump-85-525-001 w/o a tank it looks.
to $274 with a tank, https://westechequipment.com/product/560612-vmc-1-machine-tool-coolant-pump

and then LMS is raping you at $359 on sale 384 normally.

down to $211 at https://www.pumpagents.com/LittleGiantPumps/560612.html

But do your due diligence when contacting pumpagents.. I don't know them.
The pumps I have purchased are little guys I got from Lowes for $45. They work great until they don't :)

What do I do? Duct tape my Dewalt to this thing?
How is it operated?
Man, I thought I was cheap :)

Edit: Aaron, my statement was rude and insensitive. I apologize sir.
I am thankful for any advice I can get!!

I went and looked up spray gun washer pumps, thinking one might make a viable replacement. Resistant to chemicals, metallic material is inconsequential, they're rebuildable, with choices of AC, DC or pneumatic powered, etc..

Then I saw current prices! Holy cow. The pumps now go for the cost of what an entire gunwasher station cost just a few years ago.

Off Topic:
Jeff, are they still doing the 25 hrs at Thunderhill in Willows? Was always the first weekend of December, as I recall. Neat track, but that wind in December was brutal!

I've had a submersible pump up at camp now for 17 years plus . Sits in a hand dug well and works to this day . Not sure what the brand is , but Unilever bought it and I rebuilt it when they tossed it . It'll put water 30 FT up to the the top floor of the mansion without issues . Most likely a Gusher as it was all we used .

I don't know much about Thunder hill.
Been by it a few times but I'm not a racing fan.
Sorry man.

It is basically just a pump head. I was thinking maybe run it with the motor outside the tank instead of a submersible pump.

Like a squirrel cage blower but with a pump. The one I linked to is 85gph, but they come in a variety of sizes. That way you just replace the pump head when it fails, not everything like a submersible pump.

Just thinking a coolant pump is unsophisticated, its not like you need lots of pressure or super exact flow rate.

I know it's kind of off the wall, just thinking about alternatives less than $300.

We used external pumps for transferring used motor oil at work. From the mobile drain tanks to the 55 gallon temporary holding drums.

As I recall, they ran about $150 and lasted forever. Dirty nasty oil too.
I forgot about those. They had 5/8 nipples-in/out.

We bought them from Graingers. I'll check it out.
