I brought home another lathe today, and this tool was on the shelf underneath the lathe. I'm not sure the two pieces go together, but the paint looked similar. Somebody has to know what it is...

Thanks...now it makes more sense. I didn't notice the little drill symbol and was initially thinking something like a chainsaw sharpener but couldn't figure out how it would work and didn't think about it being part of a machine like the one you linked.

I posted the lathe in the "What did you buy today" thread, but here's a short version. South Bend 10K with the short 3' bed they only made for a short time....16" between centers. I didn't need another lathe, but it was 10 minutes from my house and priced right.
