My new quick change tool post

I like the acorn nut idea, I think i will make one with a smooth washer face and a tall hex. that will replace the ugly nut and the washer under it as well. thanks for the idea.

the screw on the top is what is known as a lightning hole. In other words and extra. it was intended to hold a flag like assembly to set the tool height, but i accidentally found out that the spring allowed the bit to set its own height so the flag was omitted. I plan to use it to hold a nozzle to a vacuum cleaner hose. I do a lot of HDPE plastic turning and it is handy to have a vacuum hooked up to remove the continuous string of plastic that comes off. Haven't got the nozzle done yet.

The tool holder is very ridged, but then how could it be anything else it is a solid block of steel and mounts directly on the T slot. Like mentioned before the bit does not stick way out past the holder, and it also does not cantalever over the edge like most QCTPs. On many hobby machines that is important, I doubt that it is much of a consideration if you have a Monarch. Not that i am jealous of 10EE owners, I got to have something to dream about, Waaaaaaaaa I WANT ONE TOOOOOOOOOOO.

Thank you again.Any way don't be jealous. My lathe is an ARAD SN320x750 ,a very sturdy machine, floor mounted and about 600 Kg (about 1300 lb) in weight. Still is considered "light type" by its maker!!
