My new Mud Dauber Strategy

I'm a fan of spectracide/malathion because it isn't easily absorbed by mammals. It is making the recent ban lists because it is an organophosphate by classification. The new stuff, like Bifen and patent pyrethroids, is horrendously evil against pets while being somewhat ineffective against bugs. Seriously, watch your pets.

Fire still works good as ever.

I waited for the little bastards to go to roost again tonight. Same ropes same place in the shop. Interesting how they all want to sleep on those ropes. Pulled out the can of Spectracide Wasp and Hornet spray again and let them have it. They didn't fall to the floor like paper wasp do when you hit them with the Spectracide,. but that does not mean it does not kill them I just don't see any evidence the next day of dead ones. We will see again in the morning. You got to give it to the little bastards they will crawl inside an engine full of 30 wt oil and build their nest. They have built mud nest in the neck of my 5 gallon gas can with it full of gasoline. Inside cabinets and tool chest with moth balls inside. I replaced the head light switch today on my 88 Chevy Pickup because they built a mud nest inside the switch! Today I drove one of my little Ford Rangers to town and first thing I saw was 2 mud balls on the top of the dash. Little bastards got inside and left me the message with the windows rolled up. Some tuff little bastards.

The malathion that I have is a gallon that I bought years ago and have in storage in my shop. I made sure to shake it up well before using out of the gallon jug.
