My "New" Lisle Model 91000 Drill Bit Sharpener!

Hi,
Thanks, did some more work, made a Stone Dresser, new Shield, new Tags or labels...

The dresser Diamond is from SHAR's and cuts that White Stone like Butter!D1.JPGD3.JPGD2.JPG

Just a neat little Machine!

Hi,
Just for pics, too dark inside shop!

Think I will mount it on some Red Oak!

Then I can C Clamp it where I please!

Hi,
Well, I think I am finally done with this refurb.

Mounted the Grinder on a MDF Base, made a holder for the Wheel Dresser and...

Found a Gentleman to make me a new Label.

Had a lot of fun with this Little Machine, and look forward to using it! label 1 .JPGlabel 2 .JPG

Hi,
Well, after making the Stop decided to try the Sharpener out.

Still missing some thumbscrews and labels that are in the mail from the nice Lady at Lisle.

Had some bigger drills that I use on the Lathe, most have a 2MT.

Some of these were victims of someones hand sharpening not using a Gauge, I guess...

Wrong lip angle, ect...

I am missing numbers on my angle tags, drill size, ect. so just set everything to "middle", so to speak just as a Test.

Not bad really, a fun Machine to run, a little slow maybe, but not that much, and a lot more satisfying than a Drill Doctor, to me anyway!

Time for the Refurb...

Beautiful and usefull machine, congratulations!
But... a little note: it seems to me that the "bottom" drill (in the last photo) has too large a clearance angle - I am attaching a drawing from the Lisle instruction manual.
Such a drill is dangerous: it will simply "eat" into the material; e.g. for brass or bronze - completely out of the question.

Hi,
Thanks, at the time I did those Bits...

I had no labels on the jig that needed to be set for Drill Bit Size.

No doubt that was off and effected the final grind.

Was just trying to see how the Machine worked...

Very happy with it now!
