Do you need to adjust the split using your new set screw mod for every size bit you grind, or is it a one and done?
I had a feeling this was a "kit" in spite of the positivity from the jolly chuckleheads on youtube. Hopefully the grinding wheels will settle down and give you a smoother finish after some use.
Please explain "Jolly Chuckle heads" It is only my opinion but I consider You Tube creators in our Machinist Hobby a valuable resource. In fact my hat is off to many of them. Stefan Gottswinter is no chuckle head for sure. Nor is Joe Pie. I learn a lot from My Little Mule. Our Hobby is pretty time consuming just doing the set-ups and then the machining and adding a camera and trying to explain what you are doing is more than just being a chuckle-head. You can tell by my $hitty hand held short videos of things I do it's not easy to film and talk . Just a reminder this is a Hobby Machinist Forum. And I might say it one more time. This forum is the best and the most welcoming I have come across in the 25 years I've been browsing the Internet.
YouTube is a minefield for the uninformed. There are great resources (like Gotteswinter and Joe Pie) but for each of them there are three "chuckleheads" that can make a nice surface only by accident. It takes experience (and perhaps some guidance, like that you can find here) to separate the wheat from the chaff. And that's not even touching on the folks that are incentivized, one way or another, to present something in a good light. There are positive reviews for just about every piece of junk out there. Some of them are earnest - the creator just doesn't know better. Others are pure advertisement. It pays to remind yourself that *anyone* can post nearly anything on YT, and many do.
As for your point about filming, etc. You are spot on. It takes a great deal of extra effort to make a good video or other documentation of a project. Having done a number of written tutorials for another board, I can say that it easily doubled the time it took to complete the project.
GsT covered it nicely. I like Stefan Goetteswinter, and a sprinkling of others, but looking for information on YouTube feels like bobbing for apples... in a plugged up rest stop toilet. Sure, there's apples in there, and you might just nab one, but at what cost to your health?

I learn from all of them . Some things I learn how to do and some things I learn how not to do. I'm just glad this forum is here for me to learn from and enjoy. But just for the record when Creators that I have watched many times and trust I will put my money where their mouth is. And I am always on the defensive when I hear blanket statements like "Jolly Chuckle Heads" I managed all skilled trades when I worked for GM, Had some fantastic Tool and Die makers work for me. Had a few Chuckle Heads. I do have enough experience to sort out the Chuckle Heads in any Minefield. I always resist anyone who paints everyone with the same brush.
