I have a secret place where I go to buy my tools in bulk. The guys mainly deal in machines so when I come in and poke around the small stuff, I can usually walk out with a few boxes of goodies for $50 - $100. I try stop in and see them every 6 - 8 weeks. Well, this time around I hit paydirt for the second time for machine taps and as an added bonus, a tapping head.

I managed to pick up some more Swiss, Swedish and English files too. I grab these old, good quality files every time I come across them as many of the new files are not the same quality.

Some taps and die grinder bits were damaged but the second last picture shows what was in good condition after a good clean and inspection. I love this place for tools as all they seem to have are industrial brands like Titex, Dormer etc...

So how did I do for $60?
Am I allowed to gloat :)) ?

Not sure about gloat, but for sure you should feel guilty :). Wow what a haul. Good shopping.

If you feel especially guilty then I'll forward my address and you can send me 2/3 of the items.

SCORE!!

spiral taps, pretty big sizes too Yeah thats an official gloat.
Are those solid carbide die grinder bits?

Cheers Phil

I'd be jealous, but I think that place is fair compensation for the short days up there this time of year :)

G'day Phil, yep they are solid carbide bits.

Hvontres - you sound like Bill Burr talking about Norway's short days

There is a carton of about 30 - 40 MT2 - MT3 drill bits. I am thinking of making an offer on them. I just wasn't sure which ones I already have but I am sure I can sell on any that I have doubled up on.

Considering that tools in Norway cost about 2 - 3 times more than they do in USA, I feel I did pretty good. These guys I bought from have been a major contributor to my shop and it's current spec of equipment.

Paul.
