After fourteen wonderful years with my Dog. I was left with grief saying my goodbyes… Baxter has traveled extensively with me. To the office, visiting friends, nearly everywhere. He traveled to 42 states and two proveniences of Canada. Riding many countless hours in my antique cars.. Except over seas. We look after each others dogs when either travels overseas.
I’m in England this week and received that dreaded call. Baxter collapsed, lost consciousness, messed and stopped breathing. He was rushed to the pet hospital and Put on oxygen and IV.. tests indicated he had issues with growths on his heart and liver. Most likely cancer. And was bleeding out.
It didn’t leave me enough time to return home. The hospital made it possible for a live video call. For the next three hours I could hear his breathing, see my daughter & husband along with a technician physically comforting my boy while the doctor worked her magic in hopes to fix his ills.. Followed by closing his eyes and falling into a peaceful sleep.
All the Love and Joy of living with a Dog,,, is offset somewhat by the grief I’m feeling today from loosing Baxter Boy…
Resting at home.
Many miles in his trailer
Hours on the water. Just look how happy he is looking..
Traveling thousands of miles in the motor home his place favorite.. 45’ of rig and always up front!
