Mitutoyo Digital 1"-2" Micrometer

@plongson On a lot of older digital Micrometers, this was common.

I have heavily invested in mechanical micrometers, so I don't have these little worries. At some point I'll be buying a digital Mit Mic, becaues they are so very much better made than almost anything else on the market. Don't sellyour purchase too short. Your style is what I'll be upgrading to. Personally I wouldn't mind the origin at 0.0 instead of 1.0.
 
Mitutoyo digitals have a good reputation for a reason but keep in mind not all of them. Many of the older ones had slower display response time (not really an issue) but they also had poor battery life. Excellent battery life is one of the things Mitus are known for.

I mentioned that I got rid of the ones I had that looked like these generation (blue & red square buttons) cause the ones I had were battery eaters compared to the ones I have now. Not saying they all are so YMMV.

These are what I have now, batteries last years. The depth mic I wasn't planning to upgrade cause I don't use it much & just left the battery out. But I found a new one for an excellent deal & sold the old one for what I originally paid for it. I still have an older digital inside mic but I never use that one, I'll probably just end up selling someday.

For Mitu digital calipers only the really really old ones were battery eaters. They just updated the IP rated one in the past couple of years. I like the generation I have so much I came across spares for a good price, glad I got them now that everything has gone up in price.

I have a brand new MIT digital caliper, and it seems as good as my M&W micrometers (!) The newer MIT stuff is excellent, for sure!
 
I have an older Mitutoyo 0-1" mechanical digital that I like a lot. No batteries!
 
I have a MIT mechanical Digital 0-1" that is my goto for 1". 3 digits in the digital window and you can check the barrel for 10ths. Calipers are all MIT solar powered.
