Hello all
In the process of getting my mill put back together after some repairs and I’m running into an issue. Problem is that when I got the Chinese machine it was already wired and I have been using the machine as is,, however the tapping feature has never worked. In the manual it shows a different way to wire the machine so that that feature will function as designed. The issue is for one I’m missing the bridging straps to wire it that way. I call them bridging straps for lack of a better word. It’s the little straps that tie one circuit to the other on the motor board. Secondly the manual is also Chinese and the wiring does not look the same. I need a motor guru that can help me wire this thing so that everything works correctly. I will post some picture of the way the motor was wired when I got it and some of the manual and some of the motor plate. I will be forever grateful for any help you guys can offer. Thanks

First you need to make some jumpers of the same gauge wire as is being used.
The second and most important thing to realize is the motor leads come to the back of the terminal block. You can damage a motor by trying to run it while improperly wired.
With that said look closely at the terminal block and notice the markings, the terminals are marked.
Wire per the drawing and use jumpers for the missing bars.

What type of switch do you use?
It will be important to know before we start

Does it have a reversing switch that only gave one direction?
Is that the problem you are having? Mike is correct, we need to see the switch
This looks like a 220 volt only motor so the 110 volt case doesn't apply
Looks to me like U1, U2 are the main and V1, V2 are the start wires which swap to change direction
You may not need any straps. All 4 wires should come out to the switch- the "strapping" is done there

Sorry for the delay. I am at work right now but when I get to the house, I will send some pictures of the switches. They are arranged in a control panel. I can make some jumpers no problem. I really appreciate your guys help on this. Will be nice to have the machine fully functional

Here’s a few pictures of the control panel

OK a little backstory is needed here- is this a factory panel- or did you build it? What is behind it? Are there relays or contactors?
You know this type of motor can't instantly reverse- it has to nearly come to a stop first, so for tapping... I don't know if it's what you want

Can you post a picture of the whole machine? Let's see the beast and any documentation you have

I can as soon as I get back to the house. It is a factory panel. Really doesn’t surprise me about the motor. Nothing is ever as it should be on this thing, lol

OK. The panel looks nice, but there's gotta be more hardware for it to work; a control box of some kind

There is a large control panel on the back of the machine, I bet that’s what you’re talking about. When I get back to the house I will snap some pictures of all of that and the schematics that are in the manual. I really appreciate you helping me, Thank you
