Making an anti-fatigue platform for lathe/mill

This is a little off topic but it does suite the spirit/objective of the thread "avoiding leg fatigue"
I'm not able to stand at my machines for any length of time these days anti-fatigue platform/mat or not.
I use a chair for most of the machines just like sitting at a desk, but for a couple of them I needed more height, so this is what I came up with, I just thought others might find something like this useful.

I've been using it for a couple of years now, it's worked out quit well, good height, stability, mobile but heavy enough to stay put when trying to sit down.

A good setup, Don!
What about a couple of brakes, in case of works requiring to push against a piece (which would push you back)?

I guess I overlooked that as a design feature, LOL, I'll need to send it back to R&D.

You can hide the brake levers under the arm rests!
Anyway, going back to the original thread, instead of a platform I always wear (even when doing shopping!) steel toe shoes with gel heels: they are pretty comfortable and not bigger than common sneakers. This avoid me the need of an anti-fatigue mat.

These work great, especially if you have a riser on your mill and have trouble reaching the drawbar :roflmao:
