Machining Round Features

Depends on what you need to do… clueless me did this as shown in the video. Not knowing how dangerous it was if I had tried doing it in the other direction…. I got a rotary table after that…

Boring heads work for external features, within their limits.
I floored me leadman making a link for a dirtbike rear suspension.

Bored the bearing pockets conventionally, then turned the bar around and bored? The square studs I left sticking up into round posts to accept seals.

I guess I turned them on the mill, never really gave any thought to what that would be called.

It was a hell of a lot quicker than setting up the rotary table though. That would have made for 6 independent setups.

Ive done similar resting the dowel pin on top of the vise jaws and making a bunch of small angled cuts.
