Hi everyone. A friend of mine has this Drill index. Never seen anything like it. I am hoping to learn a little about it. I am posting a couple pics so if you have a minute I would like to hear any comments. Thanks20140413_151015.jpg2014041395151010.jpg2014041395151119.jpg

I'm sorry that I can't give you a history of it, but I would say that your friend is very fortunate. It's a beauty from the past.

It is Cleveland Twist Drill, and came in a metal box that held that index and the drills in place. They usually go for about $50-$75 depending on the week on Ebay.

When I am home I will try to remember to post a pic of the catalog page.
I don't collect much for the sake of collecting, but Cleveland TD is a bit of a collection I have started. :)

Thanks for the comments. It is appreciated.
I guess I went on about it so my friend gifted it to me yesterday.
I would love to see that catalog page Bernie when ever you can find the time.
I hope it mentions the year.....

Sweet man. I aint sure there much value in some of these old tools and such, but they are a mans nick nacks. ahahahah. They just look cool to me.

Thats a nice index, Bernie's got the price right. An antique is worth what you can get for it!

Hey man

I was away, and should be able to shoot that pic for you in the next day or two. Isn't it a nice, heavy, pretty index? Pretty sweet huh?

Off the top of my head, it is easily 60 to 80 years old. I am not sure how late they produced them that way, and am also unsure, as of now, when they started.
