I kinda figured it would be hard to find a replacement part so I’m working on repairing my old one. The problem it that it broke into 3 pieces so I’m not sure how long it will last. Yes it the spindle drive pulley, I got this lathe giving to me from a local company after they broke it. I’m hoping I can fix it, I hate to see old stuff like this scarped, the rest of the lathe is in really good shape. Thanks for the reply’s.

Another example of the need to use a lathe to fix a lathe. Is the pulley cast iron or? If it’s steel or cast iron it could be brazed back together then make another pulley with the lathe. Then replace it or keep it until or if the old repaired one fails.

I second the motion to patch the old one back together long enough to make a new one
Measure the original carefully and make a drawing

I broke the mating gear to the part similar to yours on my Atlas/Craftsman 6 x 18. I bought a steel gear from Boston Gear and machined the shaft and gear to fit. I used epoxy along with an interference fit. The repair has stood up to more than forty years of service.

It’s cast iron im currently working repair it by brazing it with silicone bronze. My current problem is my other smaller lathe won’t cut the braze. So now my plan is to try and anneal it and see what happens. Thanks for all the input.
