Just when you think you have it right......

The shop tools are slowly migrating into the house. Some of the grinders showed up in the entry way. The precision measuring tools found there way in rec room. I think that is where 4 by 6 granite surface plate will end up. Obviously I live by my self.
I can't manage to convince the wife she wants a 4'*8' 8" thick or larger granite dinner table. In that size surface plate seems to go for cheap compared to a small one, decent sized for a hole shop and easier to move.

Nice looking mill ! Was it set up with a ProtoTrac at one point ? FWIW , we have a few full time shop shufflers onsite for making floor space . I won't mention any names .
I feel heard with this one and I've never even posted about my shop space. I picked up a knee mill with a 1990 cnc conversion that needs updating. Weeks later the car broke down. So being in California, half the shop contents went onto the back patio and the knee mill shoved up against something with no room to spare.

Next step is convincing the wife that expanding the garage isn't a waste of money. Somehow the toys that fill the garage are fine (and occasionally overflow into the backyard), the sand blaster is even going to live out there.

But a bigger garage is sacrilegious. Edit: This forum changes a shrug emoji to the Volvo emblem...

The beast is a EZ-Track Plus with 2 big honking servos, a 2 HP motor and an electronics box that can hide a body, if you remove the humongous transformer. Nah, it's closer to 3K. In any case I do like the 3/4" threaded rod idea
