Is this still available?

I'm late to this party, but have enjoyed reading it all.

I'm substantially underwhelmed by my attempts at selling on Craigslist. The last listing, in Los Angeles area, got a couple FAST responses. One from San Francisco area (Alameda County), one from New York. Both stank of SCAM.

I think I'll list on H-M, even though I don't want to ship these things. At least most H-M members seem to be able to converse.

Public has become a four letter word.
 
Just saw this listing on FBMP. Listed 22 WEEKS ago. My bet, 100% scam.

Why do you think it's a scam? The seller has other similar listings and his FB profile looks legit. Did you try to contact him?

I think it's a scam because I can't believe that a table like that could last 22 weeks in Los Angeles at that price. If nobody in the Los Angeles area wants that for $125, I have completely lost touch with what things are worth. Steel angle iron frame would cost the better part (if not all of) the $125 to buy material only. You get the cheap 4" vise, the top and welding for free.

Didn't try to contact the seller. About 1/2 of his listings are 30 weeks old. Some are 22 weeks old. Something ain't right.

Maybe everybody is dead broke these days (after they make their cel phone payment).
That would be an explanation why my stuff hasn't moved.

Another factor: Anybody who lists something like a bench or table, without specifying the L,W,H dimensions is too ****** to work with anyway.
 
I suppose it could be a scam but it doesn't really look that way to me. Usually scam items are high value items listed for very low prices, when one responds, they are asked to send some money electronically to hold the item. People driven by the lure of getting a steal, throw caution to the wind...
One that was running on CL for years, The Miller Bobcat welder generator, with vey low hours, listed for $500 to $1,500. Same picture every time...
 
I understand the type you're referring to. Like a nice Kubota or a drop deck trailer for $1K. Yea, right.
I was using "scam" to mean not real. Something seems wrong to me.

I agree, FB sucks when it comes to selling.
WTH is this "can I send you a code to see if you are real?" BS anyway??
Seems I get that response several times a month after I respond w/"Yes it's available" on what few listings I have out there.
 
Who knows the why, I've listed some items that sold in hours, others never sold even after a year or more. I had a Henry pneumatic grinder on eBay for 2 years before it finally sold.
