New Starrett 98 levels have a spec of about .005"/foot per graduation.I looked at my very nice old Starrett to see if it was a 98, and found it is a Starrett 97--it looks the same as a 98, so what is the difference between the two? and is the 97 just as accuret ?

I have heard that the Starrett 98 has a ground and graduated vial, while 97 has plain bent glass vials. My other understanding is that the 98 has graduations in .005/12" and the 97 only has two marks to center the bubble between.
