How would you rethread this part?

I think it’s wise to just use the right part made for that thread.
 
Having done a bit of gunsmith work(mostly refinishing and barrel stuff) I would just buy the correct muzzle device. Less hassle and time. Yes, doable via the boring, sleeving, threading route. But the right part is readily available for new at a reasonable cost. Absolutely not worth a bullet strike if the modification is not done right. Would be an expensive lesson at the least.
