I am attempting to cut a generic throttle cable that is multi strand. Wire dykes mash it and wont cut through it. Any ideas?

1-Wrap tightly with insulation tape and use a cut off wheel.
2-Silver braze the cable at the cut mark and cut there.
3-Cut over length,(10-20mm), and then silver braze the mushy end so that you can grind it back to a nice finish.

Cheers Phil

If it's what I think it is, I just touch the corner of my alox bench grinder until the spiral jacket is parted, and slide it off the core, then do the same to the core to the proper length.

I will try the die grinder idea! Thanks! If that fails I will get the cable cutters.

I removed the Galvanizing from the cable flux heavily silver braised a section about 1-1/2 inch .
Then cut off with a cutoff wheel.

Like Bill, We use small handheld cable cutters. My wife and son have broiler houses and there is a lot of small cable in one of those.;)
