I can't see a name but it is the same as most of the 9X20s. It looks exactly like mine but that is not a Jet. Central Machinery was that color blue. I think the Enco was to.
Bill this is the 5" vise I told you about and my Dad is going to send me info on the 4" he is using now.
As you can see it's almost as high as my Bridgeport vise about 5" high and the swivel base is 1 1/2" high.
5 in hi, 12in long, 4 in jaws wide, 5 - 6 in jaws open is what he told me about his 4". I'm thinking the problem is not the height but the over hang if you notice the vise is in the front t-slot so he doesn't lose travel on Y-axis.
One more time I when out and checked from the front edge to the mount bolts is 6" so once it's mounted even in the front slot he felt he lost to much travel.
Sorry guys, things have had to be done in that last few days that just had to get done. There was little time left to work on this. We will resume again very shortly. Again, sorry for the delay.
Good news the other 8 books on Workshop Practices Series showed up today, takes about two weeks from Abe Books. Now I'll have to sit down and read them all first is the Spindle book you talked about.
Good to hear Todd. Please let us know what you think of the Spindle Book.
OK we are back at it. These will become the Spindle clamps. They are mirror images of each other. The mill is incorporated here for its accuracy over the Drill Press. Three of those holes will have pins in them till the parts are finished. As I said they are mirror images. All of the work on these will be done with my milling machine.
