It gets all over clothes.

It gets all over your fingers.

It dries out just when you are in a tight spot and need to mark.

It doesn't mark on wet.

It doesn't mark on some surfaces.

Have to agree it’s hard to get the cap off with one hand

At 2 for $2 you can start a new HF one frequently

Actually, the HF one does pretty well on wet

I’ve used the HF one on UHMW, but nothing works well on Teflon

No worries, while I’m one-armed I have a lot of free time - I’m waiting to be locked out of the forums on a forced time-out
 
It bleeds through paints.. Painted the panels from the sand blast cabinet, and I thought I got it all off with alcohol, but missed a line or 2. :rolleyes:

Yes, they can find any pores in a surface; would probably stain a Granite surface plate (but I'm not doing a test!).
 
BUT! We all use sharpie-style markers in spite of any perceived drawbacks or inability to keep from writing on oneself. And we all have occasional grumbles at their shortcomings. Hence the popularity of this thread.
