Playing around with some golf ball style texturing on the frontstrap and mainspring housing of a 1911.

That looks great. Would like to see pictures when you get everything done and have it all put back together.

Thanks guys. I will be sure to get finished pics up here. There will be an Ultra Carry with the same treatment as well. My hope is to have them and a couple of other pieces on display at a local gun show in December/ January.

So are you making the entire Frame as well? Looks neat! I would end up w/ some type of color in the bottom just knowing me? Blue, Camo pattern, splash of this or that. Just say'n ;-) Fun style. pop up the pics when you get them done. Tx for sharing.

Not making the frame, just tuning a factory gun. This one is a Colt Commander. It will get cerakoted black. The Ultra will be a combo of sniper gray and black cerakote.

Nice work dclevinger. It takes a lot of precision and patience to do that.
If you want some inspiration look at some of the work Chuck Rogers does http://rogersprecision.com/. I've seen and shot his personal 1911, a real work of art.

Thanks Rich V. I've been eyeballing Chuck's work for a long time and have learned a ton from him. He is one of the very best for sure.

That looks awesome!
Was that done with a small ball mill or spot drill?
