At the last place I worked management proclaimed that they were going to use all carbide end mills, guess who was there to relieve them of there HSS end mills. A lot came without a container, the solution to this issue was PVC pipe and the end caps for said pipe. Put a cap on one end give it a little whack with a hammer the other end just push on. Then write on the pipe what type of end mill lies within, size, 2 flute, 4flute double end etc. Magic marker works well for marking.

Nice score.

Got my eyes on these:

Not Huot quality I'd expect but as long as you don't buy a lathe from Vevor, you're generally okay.

My neighbor knows my trade and was aghast at not only my file storage, but also my endmill drawers.

He thought my files should all be wrapped in paper sleeves and my endmills in tubes.

My thoughts are if you had your box in the bed of a pickup going down a bumpy dirt road, this would be a good idea.

Sitting static in a drawer there's really no need.

Nice to be able to just grab the right size from a drawer with compartments like the Vevor (or if you're feeling fancy a Huot). ;)

Akro-Mils sells some organizer cabinets, steel, with (plastic) deep drawers and dividers. The work great for for hardware and endmills, but the price seems to go up about $10 a month...

Are you saying you did the pipe/caps thing for each individual EM or multiple EMs in one container?

I would have done long 4' tubes, and put a piece of foam or paper towel wadding in between each one for the trip. still going to be heavy, but easy to carry and will fit in car or truck.

There may be flaws with this approach, but I like it. It's nice to see the various mills that you have when you need to pick one out.

Of course this approach may not work if I collect too many mills. I'm probably able to hold more than 100 of them in the single drawer (it's only about 1/2 way pulled out for the picture). And you need a 3d printer.
