Dust collection for surface grinder

I'll probably drill another hole in my shelf closer just to try it out. I can install a carriage bolt and move it anytime I need to.

I made a bit smaller intake, so it can be mounted within a couple inches of the wheel. This one is a modified 2" LB conduit body. The intake can be moved up or down depending on the proximity of the wheel to the chuck.

My hood covers 99.9% of anything I've ever surface ground on this machine. It can be moved but the goal was to not have to.

An air cleaner in the shop helps a lot. I was skeptical at first but it works.

Nice shop. Quite comfortable looking.

If you have any problems with the plastic hood or vacuum hose, try heater vent and ductwork. Being metal it will be easy to reduce down to the size of your vacuum.

What size and brand surface grinder is that? It would fit in my shop.
