Ditron magnetic scale bracket question

When I installed a 3 axis DRO on my Jet mill, there were no instructions about the intended use of the included brackets. I made what I needed. The knee scale was the most fiddling around because of the tapered, rounded surfaces. There was no ground wire in my kit.

If you think about it, it would be difficult to make up a good universal mounting system that would
fit a lot of machines. Consequently, they rely on our innovation. I didn't question it much. Instead
I just fitted the pieces I had to the best of my ability and made a few adjustments to make it all work.

@Suzuki4evr - it DOES look like you were shorted a bracket or two. Here are some photos of the (factory installed) DRO on my PM835S mill.

There is a large brass threaded fitting on my D80 that is for a ground connection.

Those brackets in the pictures are the same I got for my mill DRO with glass scales. I do take in consideration that the brackets for magnetic scales to be fit on a lathe should be a little different because the reader is on the side, but still. ...

Your original post did not mention what kind of machine you bought the DRO for. From the appearance of the brackets, similar to the ones on my mill, I assumed you as well were planning to equip a mill. My bad.

O sorry. I thought I did. No worries.
