I purchased I Ditron DRO recently wich some of the members would know. If someone here has the same model as me wich is the D60-2V,can you advise me on how you mounted the scales with the brackets supplied and if you had to make customized brackets, because I think I did not get enough brackets (I could be wrong ). The pictures show what I received.

The other question I have is,what is the earth wire they supplied for,I presume it is to earth the DRO,but I also prosume the earth is build into the wiring, so why the the wire. The casing of the display is aluminium.

I would appreciate it someone can help, but no one can then I will figure it out eventually and maybe make brackets that will work with the provided ones.

Thank you.

I forgot to mention that the small bracket is meant for the x-axis DMR500 reader and the two big ones for the stander DMR5000 y-axis reader head.

First off, I have had no experience with Ditron DROs. I did install Mitutoyo magnetic scales on my
Enco mill and had the same difficulties. I used some of their brackets and made a lot of it myself.
The main thing is that the scales are exactly parallel to the mill axis. It takes a bit of fitment but in
the end one wins the battle. One will have to shim the supports very carefully so that is no binding on the read heads.
I would expect the wire is to ground the DRO to the machine.

My thought is that the read heads are very sensitive and any stray voltages may cause erroneous readings
on the readout or even possibly damage sensitive electronics.

I would expect to run the wire from the DRO box itself and connect directly to the machine. Maybe somewhere
in the instructions they will say.

Nothing in the book I got and no instructions or installation manual just the operation manual.

For what it is worth, that's what I did and have not had any problems with the readout. It's been
about 10 years since I installed it.
