Anybody done business with them before? Reviews?

I just bought a bunch of stuff for my logan (see list below). I will give a review of anything on the list if anybody wants (contingent upon me getting around to using it).

The shipping was fast. Ordered on friday afternoon, shipped same day, and arrived monday. The guy I spoke to on the phone was a little hard to understand, but was very knowledgeable about his products. I got prompt replies to my emails. They threw in some free carbide bits. I haven't used any of the products so far, but my impression from unboxing them is that they are of expected quality or slightly above expected quality for cheap chinese goods.

The 3-jaw chuck is chock full of shavings and dust; will need to taken apart and cleaned and oiled.

The tool post bottom block it too big for a logan, and will need to be machined to fit. Also, I must use the supplied block because the bolt is an oddball metric thread M13.5X1.5 (probably supposed to be M14) and I don't have a tap like that.

"The guy I spoke to on the phone was a little hard to understand"

LOL...China Frank, Hard to understand? I've bought a lot of tool post kits from him. Sometimes its good to have a surface grinder to finish them. Absolutely do not buy the 5c collet chuck. The tapers are ground crooked in them. I have never bought any cutting tools from him, but they're probably no worse than the rest of the china stuff. The live centers seem alright. It sounds like you knew what you were buying when you ordered the stuff. As long as your not expecting high quality stuff, you won't be let down. He has a great price on the Sino DROs. Good luck with that carbide.

Sure that thread isn't 12.5M? Never heard of 13.5 either. I'm another one that'll stay away from CDCO. FWIW, check out www.tools4cheap.net for great values and Jeff the owner's a good guy. Anyway, good luck on your purchases.

I have also purchased from Tool4Cheap for a number of pieces and I have no complaints. Jeff will answer your questions with honest answers. The equipment he sells is good quality.

I can second the avoiding the 5c chuck. Ordered one a couple years ago and mounted it and it was out 0.025 at 1". Contacted them and asked for a replacement. The exact same thing with the new one. Made a new back plate and still had the same issue.

I tried all the "Tricks" with turning the back of the chuck and it made is better but no where it should be. It has been sitting on my shelf since.

I've also bought from tools4cheap with great luck.

Well I'm brand new at this game and they were recommend to me,but I will never do business with them again.Just to many out there trying to get hobbist/machinist(like us) to buy their products.I look at their website and the prices were good but no great so I thought I would give them a try and I had a long list of things that I wanted. So I sent an email asking questions about the tool post but never receive any replys back, then for the finally attempt I noted at the top of the email that this is the last try and only then did I receive a reply to my questions. So I orderd the AXA tool post w/holders and it came in a timely manor but I was expecting a t-nut for the post.So I sent in afew more emails(did I say afew more emails) and never receive any replys back. My final email again at the top I noted that its my last attempt, that time he reply back with an answer.
Me being a beginner I did not know that I was to make my own t-nut for my tool post,I also know that I'm just a beginner and CDCO probably receives tons of emails each day from commerical accounts, everyone else in the world but how long does it take to send a response back to a future customer?
So,will all this being said I will take my future business to what others recommended tools4cheap,after all its my money and my time---kroll

You aren't/weren't alone on the email thing - he NEVER replied to my emails - I had to call on the phone to even get to speak with him, and that proved to be very frustrating and unproductive. He is very good at getting out of being responsible......
