I would amend that to be "one generally doesn't get more than what one pays for ---". It's plenty easy to get less!

Dumores have good spindles. By the time you made up a capable, adjustable mount, made a good spindle, and got a balanced motor fitted up, the Dumore prices start to look pretty darn good. And the company still exists!
