Another "What's this tool for"

Found this while cleaning out a old toolbox. I may have know what it was for once but its long forgotten.

Item #3 in the assembly was made from solid with a ball shape on the end. Item #4 fits on #3 to make it round.

It's possible it is some type of awl but the needles would have had a half tubular shape on the end that goes in the handle.
 
It kind of looks like a gouge handle, for holding curved gouge blades. We used something which looked like that years and years ago for carving/gouging pictures into linoleum for making stamps in art class.

You guys are right. It's the handle from a Speedball lino carving set.

I think I've seen the gouge tips somewhere around here. Likely when I find them I won't remember where the handle is. :rofl:
