I am a little late with this question since you have used this technique on several flywheels, but how does the taper lock work? Is there a matching taper in the flywheel hub? How do you hit the dimension correctly?

Flywheels look great. How did you decide on 5 spokes?

That's what would fit with a 1/2" width spoke. Thanks Chris

How do you hit the dimension correctly?

I set the compound some where around 5 degrees and it doesn't have be exact. Now don't change the angle until you have cut all the tapers for the flywheels and the lock flange. They come out perfect every time. Thanks Robert

How about the diameter? Does the flange on the bushing rest against the flywheel hub?
