Addicted to Abrasives – let's talk belts, discs & wheels for non-precision grinding

Might favorite abrasive for my belt grinders is 3M Cubitron II. For fabrication, I like about 36 grit. They last the longest of any of the belts I’ve tried (which include Norton Blaze, True Grit and Klingspor.) They cut cool and have some very impressive stock removal rates especially when coupled with enough horsepower. (My large belt grinder is a 3x79 with 5 horsepower.) These belts have really speeded up my fabrication. And, their price is more than offset by their long life.
