Found this polisher with high speed 1/8 inch collet spindle for such a low price I made a 20 dollar donation just to salve my conscience $35 or $55 with the donation included.

It runs incredibly smooth and quiet. The small spindle is rated for 55,000 rpm and though it may not show well it has a magnifier
The long half inch and 3/4 inch bolts were $1.50 each but with the cost of good steel they might be made into anything needed.
Also picked up some hinges for a tilt wing when I build my surface plate / scraping table $3.00. And some 1/2-13 X 2 inch bolts threaded full length 50 cents each.

Am planing to go look at some equipment so I stopped at the bank to pick up an extra grand.
The teller counts out One- Two - Three........Nine - Ten - Eleven
I simply looked at him and repeated " Eleven " and you could see the light come on.

Picked up some onion rings and a malt for the drive home and the radio station was playing some rocking music from the 70s and 80s.
It was a good day.

A VERY good day if I may say so.

Neat grinder/polisher. Haven't seen a high speed spindle on a tool like that before.

I almost forgot...
Piked up two sheets 1/4" thick 36" x 39" of clear polycarbonate $30
Anybody need some?

Senna
The high speed spindle is odd in that the spindle only turns freely when a tool is chucked.
You turn the lever and the collet extends to open.
If you leave it in the open position the spindle disengages so you can run the buffer without spinning the collet.
Pretty neat.
It's very rare that I could make use of this but a friend works with gemstones and mounts.

That is pretty neat and clever as well.

After a day like that, you should have bought some lottery tickets!

I think my luck was streched far enough that day. LOL
Such days are few and far between.

Lightning strikes twice.
Had to make a unexpected trip to the town where a friend lives. The friend I promised that buffer to.
I hadn't been able to contact him and found he wasn't home but his place isn't far from the store where I bought the buffer.
Stopped in there and they had a second buffer almost like the first.
The price was much higher and having little use for it myself I almost didn't buy it.
On the other hand my friend owns one so I had to have one too.
It runs super quiet and free of vibration. IMG_9242 - Copy.JPG
