5C Collet Question

The rod is 1.0003 and it goes thru half the collet fine but hangs up on the ridge about 3/4 of the way thru. The ridge is just on one side of the bore and apears to not be concentric with the OD. I ground the ridge out of the other collet that I have like this but that wasn't the answer. A short piece of rod that doesn't reach the ridge has .001" runout but it increases to .005" if I push it all the way thru the collet. I'm gonna contact the seller today.

Heard back from Victor Tools in just a few hours. They're sending a replacement collet.
