looking for some brass my fellow reloaders, 303 brass and nagant 7.62x54 brass not berdan though:biggrin: mac

that sounds good, we have one of them just across the river from here thank you:biggrin: mac

Why would you want to buy 7.62x54 brass when you can buy it ready to rock for 17 cents a round? I just got a 440 round spam can from AIM surplus for $79.

Tom

most of the ammo you buy from oversea's is berdan primed and its alot harder to reload, i reload all my rifle brass and shotgun shells , 6.5x55, 8mil,303,3030,270,300wm,308, 7mil, 7.62x54 now, 20g,16g,12g. mac

So have a blast burning through the 440 rounds, clean your gun, and you'll still have brass for 17 cents a piece.

Tom

Never mind, that's still more than just the brass if you can find it.

Prvi Partesian ammo http://www.prvipartizan.com/ is sold with boxer primed brass cases for 7.62x54R that reload nicely and the original ammo shoots very well too. Looks like ATG has some Winchester loads too.

Hornady (IIRC) makes a 174gr 303 British soft point that shoots better than the standard 308's in the 54R. (it's 0.312" dia. which works better in the surplus Russian rifles) I get 3", 10 shot groups, with iron sights at 100 yards using the 174's.

YMMV

I found some at graf and sons here just accross the river from us, i got 2 bags of 50ct and i got 3 boxes of privi ammo and i do reload with hornady have for 20 something yrs, i would like to have a go at making my own bullets but havent tried it yet.i like hodgedon powder too i seem to get better performance out of it. you say you shoot 3" groups at 100yrds , i'm looking for 1"groups at 200yrds and this is with a bench rest if posseble, dont know yet it might just be a wish but will take all the info i can. this is my sons rifle he got it at cabelas for a 100 bucks me i think i would have went with a mauser or a 303 brit but i know he has 3 brits right now and they have been totally redone. i do have a question i have one mauser that boogers the bullet up as it loads it and i cant seem to find out why its a argentine mauser in 308 new barrel and it did this before the new barrel too, maybe someone on here knows.:biggrin:. mac
