Exchanging gifts at Christmas has an interesting history in our home. Growing up, money was scarce and Christmas was an excise for buying something that someone need or possibly really wanted. When my wife and I first married (24 years ago today), we would buy each other presents. They usually weren't what we wanted so there were gift exchanges. As we became more affluent, we didn't need an excuse to buy something we wanted so we stopped buying each other presents with the exception of some trinkets. We carried this practice through with birthdays and anniversary's as well. It takes a lot of the anxiety out of the celebration.

On that note, my wife bought a new top of the line Dyson vacuum cleaner last week. We have a fully functional Dyson canister that I overhauled last summer but my wife says it is to difficult hauling it up and down the stairs and she wanted a cordless. For my part, I'm thinking a plasma torch.....
Happy Anniversary.
