I'm a little older, those were newer cars.. when I was young, A/C wasn't in cars.. at least the cars that normal people had.

I'm old enough I only had am radio in my car. My pickup didn't have a radio. Was a 46 chevy.

I've heard you were old enough, that it didn't have an engine, that it required 350 ponies, to get to 295 hp.

It had a 216 in it. I rebuilt the engine and it had babbit rod bearings. The rods had sheet metal dippers on them and the oil pan had troughs in it to scoop the oil from. It ran pretty good after I rebuilt it. Wish I still had it.

Yeah, it seemed about 45 ponies in it. No syncros in the trans either. That's when I learned to double clutch.

Worked on one of those back in the 70's. Weren't exactly hot rod material, but they did the job, before those new fangled pressurized oiling systems came along.
