I needed some swiveling leveling feet for a shop table I'm building. Ready made ones cost more than I want to spend so I came up with these. The swiveling portion are modified 1/2-13 carriage bolts. The foot is 1-1/2" CR with a washer welded on top. I did weld a nut on after these pictures so the foot can be adjusted up or down with a wrench.

Finally got around to finishing the knob for the tailstock wheel on The 9A.
Not as nice as I would have liked but I can live with it.

Very clever Radials! How did you dish out the CRS and round the bolts?

The “socket” is made with the tip of a 135 degree drill. The bolts are standard carriage bolts that I filed the heads in the lathe to round them more.

I was thinking ball end mill. I suppose that could work too. I may try to throw one together and see how it works.

Over the past couple days i bought a gallon of evapo rust for half off. This little 4 drawer tool box was at my grandmothers pole barn and when she passed away i decided i couldnt let it go. My grandfather use to do a lot of excavating so he use to have a lot of stuff in there. Most gone before i can remember. Going off tangent this little box was pretty rusty and had lots of taps and dies in there rusting away. Cleaned up the taps and dies and they came out very good. As you can see the drawers came out great and the box is to. My plan is to sand the drawers down and prime follow by a good spray paint over and a clear coat. I am worried how to handle the box however bc it is hard to sand down and i know there is still rust behind some of the panels but i am afraid to try and pop out any spot welds since i cant fix them to form the box again. Not sure what i am going to do next for that.

I wouldn't worry about any rust between panels. You are likely to do more damage than good try to get at it.
Clean/sand what you can access, de-grease well, and paint.
If you can then keep it in relatively dry/warm conditions it will be great for many years.

Thanks ill be sanding at the stuff this week. Hope it comes out nice. Trying to debate what color to go with

I kind of like the patina.
And would just clean it up and clear coat it.
I have some similar to that, they came from the local blacksmith shop when it sold out many years ago.

I wouldnt mind the patina but i feel the need to get it back to a painted state. I would like to do original color but its like a two tone color. Similar to that green color you get on some of the new spin indexers if you know what i mean.
