Hi Mike,
Thanks, yea its a fun rig even without A/C. I run into many folks while fueling with childhood stories about an uncle or dad that had a fj-40. Young and old alike seem to wonder over to see my DD.
Glad you had a great Fathers day. Always fun to build and maintain a short wheel base rig.
I took her on a "shake down cruse" on Friday after burping the cooling system. She hauled a$$ up 8550' elevation and has never ran so cool. The base temperature was 105º and ended at 79º 45 minutes later. Mount Bigelow (Arizona) - Wikipedia, the free...The gauge was 1/3 up from cold (use to read 2/3 past cold) so I leaned her out to squeeze more MPG's. A heat gun indicated she's running 30-40º cooler with new rad.
A shot of the "old pueblo" facing south. Poor bastards are cooking down there.hehehe (6K elevation here).
The final trail leading to the towers at Mt Bigelow.
Keep the shiny side up amigo!
Turn and burn!
