2013 POTD Thread Archive

The project, for some reason the timming belt on my Toolmaster mill went south. I thought this was
easy, my plan is to lift and block up the motor. Now I find I need to tweak an allen wrench cause the
motor windings are to fat. Ok did that/ step ladder, now I cant budge it or my back cant. I didnt think
this was that heavy so I had to pry wedge/ pry and wedge, finnally got it up an inch. Got a belt
comming from Napa Friday, Its factory direct from Gates. Last I did was bump up the spindle speed
then the belt broke , I think I caused it. Belts to tight? Then I read the book 1/2 deflection with your
finger Oh O????

Started putting together my power feed controller. Been a while since I played with sheet aluminum enclosures, but turned out ok. Think the next project is going to be a hydraulic punch, as I really hate the "drill and file" method, especially for square holes.

Nice job!!

How did you letter the front panel?

Did it the easy way, used rub on lettering, as I had a ton of it left over from my PCB days. Then I just gave it some heavy coats of car clear coat.

Very nice looking job! Where does a guy get the rub on lettering! Is it individual letters? Thanks for sharing!

Comes in sheets of letters. Different sizes etc. usually found at stationary supply stores.

Not in the shop...... But keeping Momma happy!!!! Put together a 15 foot round pool and started filling it with water. She will be able to splash around and swim which helps her back and other maladies in addition to making her life much better, which indirectly improves mine too. So the pump is a runnin and the pool is a fillin and everybody is happy. Going later to look at a new puppy. Found a German Shepard that fits what I would like nicely. Spayed, Female, Good temper, trained to basic commands and not quite good enough to be a seeing eye dog. She failed the companion dog test, but will fit here perfectly. So I am waiting with baited breath to hear from her current owners and see f we can adopt her into our family or not. My Golden is getting pretty old and arthritis is starting to set in, so I am not expecting her to be around too much longer. She is 14 years old already, so it is just about time...... Hate to even think that, but it is inevitable....
